My 7 year old DD is absolutely obsessed with her comfort teddy, to the point where she will talk through it rather than with her own voice, and try and get everyone to cuddle and talk to the teddy, rather than to her.
We are trying to be patient, but it's getting to the point where it drives me up the wall. I can't have a conversation with her without the bear being brought into it, and when we're having a cuddle, I get "kissed" and "licked" by the bear. When she goes to school, all she talks about is the bear, and when she meets new people, all she wants to talk about is the bear.
When the bear gets taken away from her she is absolutely inconsolable.
Anyone have any ideas about what we do? Do we just suck it up and hope it passes, or try and encourage her to be without the bear?
