I’ve asked about my DC - who is 16 months -before. His sleep is a disaster and he is really clingy. But I just wanted to know if this is normal and if anyone else has been through this?
He shows a very strong preference to me. VERY strong. He won’t sleep unless he’s holding my hand or I’m very close. But last night he wouldn’t sleep unless he was on my chest, like a newborn. He’d scream if my partner tried to take over so I could go and clean my teeth etc. All night he was climbing all over me so he could sleep on me.
During the day, he won’t go to anyone else either.
I’m so exhausted and feel really smothered. I know I should love it, but I have other children and I find it really hard to deal with (but try really hard to not let it show, I don’t take my tiredness out on him!). He is (and has always been) very high maintainance and quick to complain, too.
It’s so difficult and I’m so tired that it’s starting to ruin my marriage.
Anyone been through it? When did it get better??
