Moving baby into his own room

Hello everyone!

I am brand new here and wondering if anyone has any tips on moving their baby into their own room..?

My son is 6mo next Saturday and we've made the decision to move him into his own room tonight as we are finding that any movement we make, wakes him up.

I'm very nervous about this, naturally, so if you have any advice I'd love to hear it :)

We have got a monitor etc.

Many thanks in advance!

I sympathise! I felt exactly the same - and it was of course absolutely fine! It was me that was making it worse. We got some smoke damage in our room and moved DS to his own room; and then realized when we all slept through the night that we had been waking each other up every time we turned over! I used a monitor, sound only, and had a relatively high tolerance for it - ie I wouldn't rush in at the smallest sound. My DS used a dummy which definitely helped with his settling to sleep - but you may not use one. Good luck!
