What happened my happy little baby?

[Peopleplease]

DD2 was a great happy little baby till she hit 8 months. Since then she mostly sounds like a cross between a baby raptor and someone being exorcised!!! She’s just turned 10 months.

She screams to be put down, she screams to be picked up. If I put her in her cot while I go to the loo it’s like the world has ended.

She’s developmentally on track, waving, clapping, high fiving, crawling, standing unsupported.

I also have a 4 year old who is increasingly fed up of the crying.

Is she in pain? Teething? Or is it being left that upsets her do you think?

She’s just got her first two teeth. I don’t thing she’s teething (although she does have her fist stuck in her mouth and is constantly drooling)

She can be standing/doing something and just start screaming out of the blue. DD1 never did this and she had reflux till she was 18 months!

She also makesna sound like she’s constantly clearing her throat. She has had a bug and a cold but this has been going on for longer.

She definitely doesn’t like being left but she’ll scream even if I’m standing right next to her.

Is it unhappy, distressed, desperate type screaming or just loud noises? If its not a pain noise then it's most likely a phase and she will grow out of it. My dd was a terrible screamer until around one,especially if I was more than a foot away. It ended when she learned to walk at around 11 months.

Sometimes it’s just loud complaining but sometimes it sounds like pain screaming but then she could be distracted by something and stop so probably not pain.

I feel bad that I can’t actually tell for certain!

Have you taken her to the doctors? If she's usually happy but has now changed I'd book her in for a check up to be sure there's not an ear or chest infection or something behind it. I've often found with my children that when they become wingey and won't be put down it turns out they're poorly x

I might be tempted to have her checked out too op.
