21.5 months not pointing body parts

Hi

my DC is almost 22 months and still not pointing body parts. he used to point his nose all the time but now if I ask him "where's your....", 9/10 times, he'll ignore me and 1/10 times point his nose no matter what body part I name.
I've been trying to teach him "belly" for a few days, playing, tickling and singing but he still didn't pick up.
He has about 50 words but he doesn't combine them, will say "it's hot", "it's good" or "all done" but no real combinations like "daddy gone", "ball blue"...
Finally, he still struggles with shape sorter, he can only do the round and the square on his own.
I'm really worried now :(

He's quite young for combining words. Some do at that age, but not all. 50 words is excellent. How is his understanding more generally?

@cedoren: his understanding is ok, not stellar. He can follow some 2 step commands but won't comply most of the time. For ex today I told him to go get his shape sorter so we can play with it. He did it because he likes it but when I asked him to bring me his coat, he ignored me.
The body part thing is really bothering me :(

I think if you keep on asking him to do body parts he'll either get bored or object to being asked over and over again. I'd just keep singing songs like head, shoulders, knees and toes etc.
They all develop differently. One of mine would not have s clue how to do a shape sorter, and he is 22.5 months! I've never given it a second thought to be honest.

Maybe he just doesn't care Grin. I don't mean to be flippant but maybe he's just not that interested in learning those just yet, 50 words at that age is great, the shape sorter thing sounds fine. He's still very very young.

At 22 months, my son could just about say dada, car and bye. Shape-sorters would just get me a wtf look.

By his 2nd birthday he could not only do the shape sorter with ease, he could name the shapes as he posted them in. I think it is really normal at this age to just suddenly make big advances in comprehension and communication.

The selective understanding is also a thing I think. Mine can hear me a mile away when it comes to things he is interested in, but is excellent at feigning deafness when I announce bedtime, or anything else he doesn't want/like.
