10 week old - out of character

Yesterday he cried on & off from 2pm (took him out in pram to settle him & he had a snooze, sang to him, rocked him, bathed him, had skin to skin time, fed him and was inconsolable at bed time. This is totally out of the ordinary, but it seemed to me he was just fighting sleep. How do you know when to take LO to gp and when in all likeliness he's just feeling out of sorts? Thanks

Has he any other symptoms or a temperature? I would probably try calpol and see if that helps, if he's really inconsolable then I would take him to the docs.

No other symptoms and no temperature either. Woke up smiley today but has struggled to settle for naps & has still been a bit teary during the afternoon. Starting to think he's just getting over tired - poor thing! Thank you for your reply.
