7yo DS plays the same game every waking moment of the day - normal?

My lovely beyond lovely little boy who will be 8 in December will spend every waking hour playing THE SAME game, at present and for the past few days it has been re-enacting Thomas the Tank Engine. He will watch it on TV and then spend every moment we are at home pretending to be a train, running up and down the length of the front room/dining room. Other days it's Peter Rabbit or whatever movie he's just watched. He has no interest in toys whatsoever - none, not even toy trains when he's being Thomas. His toys are never touched. All he loves to do is re-enact his latest favourite TV show etc. He is such a happy contented boy but I do sometimes wonder whether this is normal behaviour? What do you think?

Have no screens for a week and show him how to play with his toys.
How does he play with friends?

Are his language and social skills developing as they should at school? Has he got friends?
