Hi I'm a single dad with a 15 yo daughter.
She is a great kid but unfortunately she has inherited my disregard for basic cleanliness and tidiness.
I've been trying to fake it, so she sees an ongoing attempt by me to keep things in order.
Although I make her spend 5 minutes cleaning her room when she gets home from school and we all have a big clean-up on Sunday afternoons, her room remains by far the messiest in the house, more so than her brothers'. She routinely misses things like emptying her bin so there's rotten apple cores and sanitary items.
She hasn't developed a sense of when clothes need a wash and sometimes smells of BO, although she really tries with her appearance and wants to fit in.
Does anyone have any helpful tips on how I might gently steer her in a better direction?
