Weaning?

My son is 4 months old and weighed 8lbs 2oz when born and now weighs 16lbs 10oz.
he's a hungry boy and has been on hungry baby formula about a month after he was born but had to change to Anti-Reflux formula from month 2 as he suffered terribly, I've seen some baby foods such as porridge etc that have you can start at month 4. I know he'd absolutely love food!😂 But I'm unsure I'm seeming my HV / GP soon but was just wondering if anyone had suggestions about weaning early? They say to wait 6months.

Jojo13 Well said. Some people obviously have no idea what it's like to have a reflux baby

Our GP suggested weaning DS at 5 months due to reflux, to be honest he wasn't all that interested and he was also a big baby at birth and has always had a healthy appetite for his milk. I don't think the bit of food he was having made too much of a difference to the reflux, what really helped was him becoming more mobile and being able to sit up.

Fast forward to a month later and he started to LOVE food and now we're another month and a half down the line and he wants absolutely everything, it's just a shame that his digestive system won't tolerate anything at the moment 😞.

Anyway, my point is if you try him with porridge and he doesn't want it, just give it a little more time! I was surprised DS didn't really want food considering his appetite but it wasn't long until he was ready for it. I understand how awful reflux is for the baby, I really do! My DS has had a max of 6 weeks in the last 7 and a half months where he's not been irritable and grumpy.
