Tips on how to stop 6 year old picking her lip/fingers?

Dd has developed a habit of picking her lip and loose skin beside her fingernails which can sometimes bleed. She seems to do it absentmindedly. Exhortations to stop are not working Smile - does anyone have any tips? Thanks.

(Watching as DSD spends all the time with her fingers in and around her mouth...)

Bribery! Grin

DD1 (8) will do this, especially on her thumbs and I've seen them raw all the way round to the pad of her thumb. Also done absentmindedly and because she has a habit of rubbing the rought bit of skin on "snaggy" material - has done since she was a toddler.

Also try something to remove the dry skin - we use a thick emolient cream at bed time to remove the dryness and therefore pick-ability!
