For all mothers of boys around 7 years old, how often do they cry ?

Reason I ask is that my 7 yr old seems to cry most days, sometimes once, others more, usually over the silliest of things, if he is enjoying himself out and I say he has to go, he always fine with things like that, but then later he will ask for a drink before bed and I will say only water, and he will cry and say I wanted juice etc etc,

My DS is quite sensitive & does cry quite easily, but I wouldn't say he gets upset every day.
Has your DS always been this sensitive, or is it a recent thing?
Have you tried talking to him to see if there is something in particular that is troubling him atm?

My Ds is nearly 7 and cries very rarely.
If he does cry it is normally when he is tired.

Every now and then. Mine cry more with rage than sorrow I find. Esp when frustrated about rules of games and winning or losing like cod's boy. Had a terrible family footie game yesterday with strops from whoever was losing. (And everyone failed to admire my brilliant moves too. ) Occasionally j gets all overwrought if we tell him off and his lower lip wobbles.

Not that often. We know he is truly sad when he does though

Mine cries at sad films, and when he does it starts me off.
Feel glad in a way though, shows he is sensiteive to others feelings.

Ds1 cries when he's hurt or when something has really upset him though we watched 'The secret garden the other day and he cried at the end bless him

DS2 sounds similar bouncy. He drives me up the wall sometimes because he cries over the most ridiculous things. I would say he probably cries more than DD who is only 3 (Ds2 is 7 in June). I would agree with the others though that he does it more in the evenings so I would put a lot of it down to tiredness. they all go to bed at the same time, but DS2 is often awake hours after the other two have gone to sleep (takes after me)

ds2(7) cries when he feels life is unfair, usually as a result of something ds1 has said or done. This happens about 2 times a day if they are together all day, but much less if they are not thrown together. However, ds2's tears stop pretty easily - a few magic words pertaining to a fair judgement usually does the trick. If I had a son whose crying was difficult to stop, that would be very different.

Ds2 very rarely cries when he has hurt himself - very stoic. Teachers have often commented on it. And I have never seen him cry as a result of anything that has bothered him about school when he is at home.

DS1, when he was 7, cried over pain - he is a bit of a wuss or has a low pain threshold, don't know which.

I think crying easily is one thing, how easy you can put an end to the cyring is another.

DS never cried at that age. He still does not appear to feel pain very much, but like others here the most upsetting thing then (and now, aged 12) is losing games.

he is so happy 99% of the time, he is very sensitive, but both I and his dad are also.

I think it is anger as well and frustration.

ds 7 - cries with anger or frustration - rarely with sadness and if he does it breaks myheart!

DS cries out of anger and frustration, if his feelings are hurt, and if he hurts himself. Not every day for little things.

He has lately started to try to throw a tantrum and cry when I say no to something but I just let it go. He's worked out pretty quickly that he won't get what he wants by doing that.

I find that he cries more when he is tired - well, like we all do really.
