Favourite stories for 4 - 5 year old (what really captures their attention?)

Hi all,

I'd love to hear what type of stories you've found that 4-5 year old boys particularly enjoy? Ghost stories, fairy tales, tales about cowboys?

Especially keen to hear about stories that have really drawn your child's attention, and have helped them become less distracted.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Cowboys?

DS likes Dinosaur Cove and Mog, Stick Man and The Faraway Tree, Thomas the Tank Engine and Fantastic Mr Fox, Aliens love Underpants and Six Dinner Sid. My Naughty Little Sister and Flat Stanley.

He likes all sorts and enjoys any well written story being read to him.
