Toddler fascinated by BF a year after stopping

Has anyone encountered a toddler that seems to want to start breastfeeding again... after pretty much a year of stopping?! We stopped at 14 months and never looked back - she didn't seem bothered switching to a bottle at all. But she's two now, and recently (since meeting a few family/friends' newborns who are BF) she sometimes asks for boobs at bedtime and lies her head on them. I don't mind this in the privacy of her bedroom, but a couple of times she has got tired/upset in public places and tried to pull my top off, which was interesting. I know it's just a comfort thing, seeing other babies doing it - I'm just curious as to whether other people have experienced this!

My experience with both DC was the complete opposite (I stopped at 13 months with each). A few days after we stopped it was like they'd completely forgotten they had ever been breastfed. I was a peer supporter so they had loads of exposure to breastfeeding but didn't really seem to notice it until about 2/2.5. Then they were interested but never expressed a desire to actually feed again themselves.

I found it very easy to stop breastfeeding though so maybe they just weren't that bothered by then.

DS2 seemed to forget he was ever bfd. I have a friend whose DS was obsessed a few months after stopping.

Mine occasionally asked for it up to 12-18 months after. Weaned at 24 months. For some children BF, especially when past babyhood is a deeply important and emotional issue. You could chat with your dc about it in appositive way and that you understand why she would like it again. Then maybe breezily suggest, shall we make some yummie it will pass. But i do think it's very sweet.

I stopped feeding at 2 yrs. DS is now almost 4 and still tries his luck for "milkies" if I'm naked and not really concentrating
