Is it normal for 9yr old to get up for the toilet during the night?

Anyone else's dc's do this? He goes for a wee before bed and isn't drinking any more than usual but has started getting up during the night. He gets back to sleep quick so isn't really an issue but I just wondered if he should manage to go till morning.

Perfect normal, and drinking less can make it harder to keep in.

Ask the doctor if you are worried,

You can set the clock by my 16 year old, he goes to the loo at 12.15am every night has done for years (since he was about six), even if he has gone to bed late and used the loo beforehand, but he can sleep through to 1pm , so it's not that his bladder can't last a long time, so I just assume now that his body just wakes him for a pit stop, he always goes straight back to sleep.

Plenty of adults sometimes go to the loo during the night as well.

I wouldn't be worried unless it was multiple visits every night, or it was causing upset.

All of mine have gone through the phase of the regular 5.30am wee/poo. I just wish it didn't wake me up! Sad

I still do this and I'm .40! Perfectly normal.
