how to stop my 8 year old taking his night nappy off (ASD)

I've tried a few things, putting a onesie one backwards worked for a while, and so did putting two nappies on, one over his pjs so he had one to play with. I've also tapped the tabs with tape which helped a bit

Does any one have any other ideas?

Have you tried posting in special needs? You may get a few more responses Smile

Is he verbal? Can he tell you what the problem with the nappy is? Is it possibly sheer heat and he might be better going to bed in the nappy and nothing else at all?

WitchSharkadder · 14/02/2016 18:12

Have you tried putting a pair of boxers over the nappy?

Afraid that only worked for us for a short while again though. Of you find a solution, you're my hero, I've been battling this for around 10 years now Smile

we use rackety's vests (with pjs over the top), but they are bloody expensive.

Hello again ive found using a mix of tape and a vest has stopped him long enough for it not to become a nightly thing. but i'm still open to any long term solutions.

Would sellotaping up the Zip on the onsie help?

Chasmac · 03/03/2017 16:44

Try an all in one swim suit, shorty style, zip up the back, lightweight...

bitteroldhag · 05/03/2017 18:11

That's a brilliant idea Chas.
