Any other Christmas-themed accidents yet. Spent yesterday at A&E...

Now I'm not making light of a serious topic, but just want reassurance that I'm not alone!

Yesterday DD got hold of the box of Christmas tree decorations. As she'd been a stroppy horror all morning I was pleased she finally had found something to do for 10 mins without clinging to my leg. I thought there was just tinsel in there, and some harmless deco's but she found a small round bauble. The size that just fits in a toddler mouth. And is made of glass!! I saw it go in and lunged for her as it went CRUNCH!! Turned her over and tried to fish it out. I definately saw a bit at the back of her throat get swallowed.

We went to Casualty, lots of wriggling and wrestling to achieve 3 x-rays and there was nothing to be seen. She's been right as rain since, no distress or problems eating. I'm still waiting for the first poo and then we'll get forensic. I'm angry at myself for not putting this box away. Now we'll be spending Christmas watching her like a hawk.

No you are not alone...dd age 5 months got hold of some wrapping paper with sellotape stuck to it. Started to cough and out came a chewed up ball of paper and tape. She also had a blue tongue from the colour on the paper. (very scary)

DS when he was little did exactly same thing as your daughter, he opened his mouth and I saw a shiney red thing in there which turned out to be part of a bauble. Managed to get it out, but never found rest of the bauble, even when we took the tree down, no sign of broken bauble.

Just thought id add my Christmas story - was a few years ago though...

I put a christmas hat on my pony (as you do) and she spooked and clamped her foot down on my toes, and swivelled. Spend all of Christmas in agony, hopping around Nothing A & E could do... just ease the pain abit

Moral of the story : never try and dress up your pets
