normal for a 2 1/2 year old to still put things in their mouth?

Ds has always been a mouther! He would stick literally anything in his mouth as a baby and even found him munching on a worm once . He will be 3 in June and although he doesn't put much or anything in his mouth now he still bites on toys etc..
Yesterday he bit the tops off his crayons and spat them out and today he has bitten peppa pigs leg off!
He's developing fine otherwise, he talks in full sentences, can count and do colours etc. He's not as advanced as dd but she was quick with most things. The other thing I'm worried about is his lack of danger awareness and rules.
He wouldn't do something for a reward and doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. He seems to understand me when I tell him not to do something but will then immediately do it again, even if it's something he's done that has hurt him.
He's very sociable, and happy but very boisterous . Dies he sound normal?

Should also mention he's been a nail biter since he had teeth! Started probably about 9 months old and I've still never once had to trim his finer or toenails! He will munch on them. I'm thinking maybe sensory issues mainly as dd has problems with skin picking.

Yes, it's pretty normal, I remember looking it up when she was about 2.5, it said it was completely normal up to around 3. She was still doing it at 3, I'm not sure when it stopped, but it is only very occasional now she is 4.5

My 2.2 year old still does it and has always been a mouthy baby too. That doesn't help much I know as I don't actually know if it's 'normal'!

DS is exactly the same age, he barely speaks and when he does I am the only one who understands him, he counts but it's just number noises rather than words and everything is blue no matter what colour it actually is. He also still chews everything... including his big sister.
I don't think your DS has anything to worry about!

DD doesn't generally but will with crayons sometimes, I think she wants to know what will happen because they're slightly different consistency. Whereas standard plastic / wood toys she knows there's no point!

My dd's 6 and still does this.

She bites her nails, puts things in her mouth, although it's only occasionally now. She was terrible as a baby and toddler.

Sorry for abandoning thread everyone I've had some issues with my Internet. Thanks for all the replies, he is still quite young then I suppose. Hopefully he will grow out if it (sooner rather than later )
He decided to eat fluff off the carpet today! Luckily I had hoovered yesterday 'sigh'.
