Dd1 turned 3 in October and quite frankly since then (probably a bit before too) she has become a nightmare, definitely living up to the term 'threenager'.

Some days she is absolutely golden but other days it's just tantrum after tantrum. I try a 'pick your battles' approach but at the same time I don't want to be one of those parents who just gives

Also stay calm. If you feel like shouting, go stand outside or have a drink of coffee. Walking away is better.

Also tell her what's happening next in advance. You can also try giving her choices between two things so that she feels she has some control.

Bed early! That will help.

Domino that's some really sound advice, I do try and praise as much as possible but there's always room for improvement, same with letting her know what's happening next and the empathising thing too. I often find myself inwardly rolling my eyes and thinking "oh for gods sake", especially after a long day. Although having a 3 year old is tough, actually being 3 doesn't seem like an easy ride either.
