How old was your dc when they started crawling?

I'm just wondering if it might be imminent for DS.

He's 6.1 mo and can pretty much get where he wants to go by rolling and dragging himself. But he's getting quite frustrated as it's quite an effort for him. He's relatively easy to contain at the moment as I can catch him before he gets too far.

How long did it take your dc to go from doing this to actual proper crawling? And what age were they?

I just need to know when to step it up with the baby proofing

Dd was v small, and crawled at about 7 months. Didn't walk till 15.5 though - I remember being staggered that she spent more time able to crawl but not walk, than she had spent unable to do either.
Couldn't sit upright without supporting herself till 9 months, so perhaps her balance is poor.
Can't remember when first tooth was, average I think, but suspect they are unrelated.

An aside, OP: the best thing about them starting to crawl is any baby weight you have left just falls off as you're up off your seat every ten seconds trying to catch them.

Crawling at 7 months walking at 10 months running at 11 months now at 14 months - doesn't stop lol!

My DS was crawling at 7 1/2 months, walking properly at 12 1/2 months. He's now just over 13 months & has 9 teeth :)

DS was always a chunk, bless him, he didn't crawl properly until he'd just turned 10 months and then walked at 14 months... I do notice the lighter/smaller babies tend to be up and moving a lot earlier!!

DS just a turned 11 months and crawled properly at 6.5 months.... As far as the first thing he could pull himself up on and cruise. First steps at just 10 months, getting more confident by the day now. First tooth at 5 months but got 8 in first 3 months. 9 and 10 are on their way

DS crawled a week before 6 months but didn't walk until almost 17 months. Those poor baby knees.

He was very tall, in the 99th centile.

All three of mine got their first tooth at about 5 months & crawled at 8 months.

DS1 walked at 12 months, DS2 at 10 months & DS3 at 11 months.

Dd was about 7mo and was very speedy. She was walking at 11mo. Ds is 6.5 mo now and very solid. Is showing no signs of wanting to be on his tummy but is getting good at stretching and reaching and very precise in his movements. I think I have a while before he is crawling which is just aswell as I will need to put a lot of small toys away.

9/10 months

My dd rolled at 10 weeks.
Didn't crawl until 11.5mo, despite showing all the signs from around 7mo.
She started walking a fortnight later!

They don't really keep to schedules...

DS rolled at 8 weeks, commando crawled at 5, properly crawled at 6 months, cruising by 7 months but didn't walk until 14 months!

DS rolled at 8 weeks, but then didnt crawl til 11 months and still showing no signs of walking (14 months!)
