What age do you think is appropriate for pre school?

I have a daughter starting nursery school in september at nearly 4.
I am considering sending my youngest to pre school ( 2 years 10 months ) to spend some time with my eldest.
I'd only do it once or twice a week in comparison to my eldest who will be going 5 afternoons at the school
Thanks for any advice

Isn't that just the downside of being the eldest child though? My DS1 had me on his own (outside of my p/t work) for 2.5 years before DS2 was born. DS3 will have me for 2 years once DS2 is at school. DS2 gets me either with his older brother or with his younger brother. That's just how it is. middle child syndrome for you!!

2.5 was the perfect age for my dd, I wouldn't have wanted to wait longer. She started off doing 3 half day sessions, and now at nearly 4 does 5 mornings a week in the school nursery. She'll be totally ready for school in September.

She has always loved going, and it's made her much more confident.

Rocky
You're right. I suppose because they are so close on age and at a very similar stage intellectually I guess it just seems unfair
