Hi I am enquiring on behalf of my wife, a speech and language therapist, who is taking on a job of tutoring and raising the speech and literacy levels of a normal 8yr old English girl from London.
My wife does not have much experience working with mainstream children and would like some advice about how to connect with an 8 yr old girl. For example, she worked with a 5yr old boy previously who was nearly mute in her sessions, but became much more talkative and engaging when she integrated Ben 10 into some teaching games.
What are the equivalents for 8yr olds? Obviously she would be too old for stuff like Peppa Pig, but would she be into things like Harry Potter or is that too old for an 8yr old?
