Ds (3.11) fallen of 50th centile and now roughly in 25th centile

I measured ds today and realised that he has basically not grown in the last half year or more. His weight is stable, as he basically looks the same as before, slim and athletic. I don't know what to do about this. He seems to eat ok amounts from most food groups (although is fussy, so might be somewhat deficient in protein). I know he isn't destined to be a giant (I'm 5' 7 and DH os 5'10 9 ), and DH was always very small (he even got taken to the doctor, but was just tall enough not to be given hormones) until he had a major growth spurt in his teens and just shot up. I, on, the other hand was a giant child and stopped growing age 11. Should I contact HV? I'm a bit worried about DS..

Are you sure you measured him accurately? Children are norotiously hard to measure the height of - at a clinic recently DS had shrunk 3cm until the remeasured him and realised he must have wriggled or not been stood straight.

I did measure a few times (doing the book trick) and made sure he was standing properly and flat against the wall. He has possibly grown around 1 cm, which doesn't affect the centiles..

I don't think you need to worry hugely, my DD (5) dropped from 50th at birth to now being on 2nd centile, the doctors like to check her every few months but they don't seem overly worried. Unless there are other issues/symptoms, being short is just being short, someone has to be 2nd/25th etc!

Yes, I'm not worried about him being on the short side, as long as he is happy (although it's a bigger issue for boys than girls, psychologically). What I am worried about is that he is reaching his potential and there aren't any problems IYSWIM. Very worried DM keeps pushing me to contact hv, gp or whoever, because to her eye DS is basically the size of a 2 year old (she is used to giants like me and DB)..
