Thoughts on weaning at 20 weeks?

My DS was 20 weeks yesterday. He is not showing any signs of wanting to feed more through the day, but has started to wake twice during the night for a feed. He takes a full feed on both feeds and is still looking for a feed at his usual time of 7:30.
Feeling guilty about considering weaning earlier than 26 weeks as the sleep deprivation is influencing my decision.
Can and will hang out but just wanted to sound people out on thoughts and when they weaned.
Would you reccomend any particular foods when I do start weaning?

My DS was 20 weeks old this weekend. I started weaning at 18 weeks for similar reasons as yours - it hasnt helped his sleep. I waited until just over 6 months with DD and it was a lot easier.

I agree waking in the night isn't an indication for weaning. It's probably just a growth spurt. I would wait

I had a refluxer. GP recommended weaning a little bit early, but I waited until 6 months minus 1 week. I was more concerned about DS developing allergies due to early weaning than having to cope with a few more weeks of sick everywhere (I was used to it by then anyway).
But weaning did not help the reflux - if anything, it just made it more disgusting, and as someone else mentioned up-thread, having to prepare meals in addition to milk feeds just makes life more complicated.
Anyway, I tended to give milk AFTER meals, which is the opposite of what is recommended. Otherwise, the milk would bring the food with it on its way up (as in our case it probably really was an intolerance to milk). Giving the milk afterwards meant that only the milk would come back up.
