Hairy Maclary from Donaldsons Dairy by Lynley Dodd. Don't know about 2 year olds, but I like them.

Get stuck by Oliver Jeffers. DS2 thinks it's absolutely hilarious and dissolves into fits of giggles.

(And he loves lost and found, up and down, how to catch a star and the way back home. He's a big Jeffers fan.)
