My names Katie and im a 19 year old single mummy to little Kai whose just turned 14 months. I look forward to getting to know you all and your little ones but i really need your help
Kai has always been a very needy baby, needed to be held all the time, cried alot and i always thought it was cause he's intelligent and got bored easily. He sat up at 4 months, crawled at 6, talked at 8 months and walked at 11 months. However he's just so difficult that its driving my round the bend. We were together constantly untill he was 13 months when he started nursery as i went back to college. Now we have 4 days together and as much as i love him i dread them :( all he does is shout, scream or cry the whole day. i have so many toys for him but he wants to climb on the sofa, i put him down and he has a full blown tantrum, i try distraction, ignoring him eveything and its horrible :( he bangs his head off the floor etc. He wants to picked up and then put back down and its just never ending. i love him to bits but i just dont know how to cope with it anymore
any help would be much appriciated xx

tell me about it Peachy lool he never ever seems to stop for a breath even! + i completely get it now, i mean with all that energy and nothing to burn it off he's obviously going to need some sort of outlet for it which results in him being a little nightmare for me haha. I took him swimming this afternoon and even though he was petrified and clung to me like a little monkey im hoping he'll get used to it and start to enjoy it. Oh thankyou hunny that so lovely of you, i love it on here i really do and ive only joined since yesterday! the advice ive recieved is amazing and beats any mother and toddler class ive been too lol
thats a great point Julie, maybe once i take it away for good or only offer him the fruit he'll start to take it xxx

Glad you are going to keep going swimming, I'd give it a few more tries and see if he calms down. If there any aqua tots sessions near to you? They aren't that dear and usually have the floats and toys for you to use.

Glad you are loving MN too Smile

im definitly going to keep taking him as it does wear him out and its nice to just get out haha. Ohhh ill definitly look up and see if they have a class, i didnt even think about that, silly me. I think that'd be great for him. Its funny because he loves the sea and isnt one bit scared of it, walks/crawls straight in lol i was like a mad woman behind him trying to get hold of him
xx
