Hi all

I'm currently turning to you to resolve the first of many disagreements with my husband. We are currently expecting our second child, and our first child will be 19 months when baby #2 will be born. My husband is under the impression that DS will not require a buggy of any kind when he is 19 months, as he will be walking. I've tried to explain that DS will be toddling, but is likely to become tired quickly and will therefore need a buggy for distances till he is at least 3, maybe longer or shorter. DH is adamant that we will not need a double buggy. I'm not sure what school of life he went to, but please help support what I think is correct.

Get the double buggy!

DD1 was 24 months when DD2 was born (DD1 also walked early from about 10 months), but I would never dream of not getting a double buggy. We still use it now (she's almost three years old) when I want to get from A to B really quickly, or when DD2 used to cry and needed to get home, or when both needed to nap in the buggy when we were out....!

Like other posters have said, DD1 could walk a fair distance by then, but only when it suited her. Didn't always walk when I wanted her to and sat down whenever she felt like it LOL. Even now!

Thanks everyone for your responses. As I say, I did put all of this to him, and of course I wouldn't do without a double buggy! The thought is simply ludicrous. And his mum and my mum would have also told him so (both had kids near or under 2). They're just on holiday at the moment...

Wow, didn't think I'd be back on Mumsnet so soon after DS.

Cheers xx
