My ds 6, seems to be quite aggressive when socializing with other children. for example he will snarl or growl at children he doesn't he know when he catches their eye contact. He normally will do this to children around his own age and when i question him about it he will become quite angry. I will normally calmly explain to him why it isn't nice behavior, however other times i put it as straight as it is and tell him he won't make new friends if that's how he treats people.
This morning we arrived at the school gates and his saw a boy (a class mate), he ran over to him and got up in his face and started growling. I pulled him back and asked what he was doing! His response was to storm off outside the gate and stand outside of it. So i go talk to him, he says that he was just playing and him and the boy play everyday. But now he don't want to be friends with the little boy.
Most of the time he will only take on a friend if it's on his terms, very rarely will he accept friendship if offered to him. Really don't no what to do with this somewhat anti-social behavior.
Any suggestions?
