My 9 year old daughter has recently become fearful of being ill while out and about after being sick on a birthday treat. She had come down with a bug and was sick before reaching the restaurant. Now she worries about getting in the car incase she feels sick and won't eat out. In the last few days she struggled to eat at a relatives house. At home she eats fine but not if we are at the table.
Been to the doctors and they have said there is nothing wrong physically with her tummy and that its anxiety. They have recommend seeing the school counselor which is all good but she is back to school next week and I'm dreading her going in. I know its not going to be a good week.
Has anyone had this sort of anxiety issue? Any advice?

Ds suffers with ocd which focuses a lot on fear of herself being sick, son being sick and generally sick in general.
She has food Preparation phobias as well.

She was diagnosed about 5 years ago, has had counselling/ therapy and is coping with it much better.

School may be able to help..if not, go back to gp and ask about some support..maybe CAMHS.

I will go back if school are no good. Dr said we have to start there before we fan be referred back to the gp for further help. Feels a little backwards but we are ready and willing to try anything. Really want het to feel better about things before hormones start playing up. We have ocd in the family and it makes life very difficult for everyone.
Glad to hear the ds is feeling better with it.
