How much does your 5 or 6 year old eat for main meal of the day?

DD1 is really frustrating me. She was never a great eater but her appetite is almost non-existent these days. She doesn't fill up on crisps/biscuits/fizzy drinks so it isn't that.

We don't usually have pudding so she isn't holding out for something sweet. She is just not interested in food.

She is about 50th centile for height but her weight is a little below that and she is starting look thin.

She has asthma and when she is ill she tends to lose weight quickly so can't afford to be too thin.

Any ideas on improving appetite/interest in food would also be appreciated.

Hmmmmm. Is she physically very active? This encourages appetite I think, but it's hard to say for others, only know what I have Grin. They do look thinnner at 6 compared to 5/4 I think. DS was always slim but is looking slimmer than a year ago certainly. He is slim and very tall, 5.7. He eats well generally, but when ill eats less/has no appetite and starts looking thin. Luckily not ill very often! Also his eating goes in phases, sometimes a lot (growing) sometimes less than his sister (3.5). He is also not a pudding merchant (unlike his sister). By the way DS is something like 98% for height and 75 ish for weight. Has been for yonks and yonks, so the two don't need to match really.

By the way 5.7 is his age not his height Smile. He is about 122cm tall I think.
