Any dentists out there? Lots of adult teeth early on?

Worried about DS. He is aged 7 and has 10 adult teeth already (new molars and all his incisors). That's on the early side of normal, but now one of his canine teeth are loose, which isn't supposed to happen for another couple of years (til their 9-10) Anyone else have any experience of this?

Anyone? Please?

I would take him to the dentist and ask a professional.

My dd1 got her adult teeth early. She's 14yo now and it hasn't had any apparent adverse affect. The only strange thing was her adult canine teeth stopped growing when they were half way down for about a year, the dentist said it was because there wasn't enough room and when she had grown and there was more room it would resolve and it did!

Well took him to dentist today. She said a wobbly canine at his age was worth some further investigation and gave him a 'panoramic x-ray'. It revealed that the secondary incisor next to the canine had 'taken out' the root of the canine as well as the primary incisor. This means that it will fall out in the near future but he wont get the canine through to replace it until he is older. By then the gap will probably have been taken over by the other teeth...he's got a small mouth and I think this is why it happened. Just glad there wasn't a more serious cause. Although I don't like that they did an x-ray on all of his mouth, (bit of neurotic hippy type) I think it was the right thing to do to investigate it. I can see him having orthodontic work in the future.

Yes, I lost my baby teeth really young and my adult canine tooth grew over the 2nd tooth. I had my first set of braces (of a few) at 8 so must have lost baby canines by then.

Wow brettgirl, I didn't realise children could get braces at 8. I had to have two lots but not until I was much older I think. DP had to have loads of teeth taken out and 'train tracks' because of a small mouth. I wonder if getting them early (when the mouth is smaller) increases the need for orthodontics.

My dd is almost 8 and has lots of adult teeth at a guess I'd say around 7. She lost her side canine about 6 months ago dentist commented that it was early for it to come out but should be fine. No new tooth growing at present and its been a while now. But then her incisor on the same side took a year before it started growing in

My son 8 dentist said most his adult teeth only 3 baby teeth left they all threw one time said shoudent have them till he's 11hes to go to orthodontist they all close together wonder why that is
