What shoe size does your toddler have?

My daughter got her first shoes at 16 months and was measured a 4f. She is now nearly 21 months and a 5f. Just wondering how fast toddlers' feet grow?!

DD got her first shoes at 13 months and they were 3.5G in start rite sizes. At 17 months she still hasn't outgrown them. I took her in to be measured at the beginning of Jan and last week, but she just won't grow out of them and I really want to get her new, non-pink shoes. The woman in the shop said they will probably last another month.

gaelicsheep · 16/02/2012 23:28

My DD got her first shoes at 14 months and was a 2.5F. She's now 20 months and a 3F. I'll be getting her feet measured soon as I think she may be starting to outgrow them. I can't wait until she's a 4 and we get to choose from a wider range of shoes that aren't bright pink or purple!

mrscumberbatch · 16/02/2012 23:28

She's about 3 feet tall first1.

inmysparetime · 17/02/2012 08:08

gaelicsheep I had immense trouble finding size 2E shoes for DS, he wasn't a size 4 until he was almost 3yo, and pink and purple shoes really weren't working for himBlush.
Also, black shoes start at sizes 8 or 9, so I had to send him into school in brown shoes until he was in Y2 and could finally fit school shoes.
I am shocked at the size of some of these feet! You must spend a fortune on shoes, I don't even get my DCs feet measured till they start wearing through the soles of their shoes. (about a year, used to be about 6mo). We do walk a lot though.

DD (3.3) is size 7.5. She started at 3.5 at 18months, then she's had 4s, 5.5s, 6.5s and 7.5s. Am quite chuffed we've managed to avoid buying the half sizes, going up a size each time (bit cheaper!). You have to be a bit careful when you get them measured though as not always accurate. She came out a 7 at last measuring, so wasn't going to bother with new shoes, but when she came to try on 7 slippers for nursery they were too small so got shoes checked again and she needed 7.5s- got 7.5 shoes and 8 slippers!

They seem to really slow down with foot growth around 4/5, DS (5) is in 11.5s and has been for about a year- think it's quite common to have a spurt and go up 2 sizes though so am watching out for this!

18mo DD is currently in a 7.5g but these are ones we got before Christmas and I suspect we're gonna need to get her re-fitted soon.

However she is very tall for her age and wears 3-4 year old clothes so her feet are in proportion!!

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 17/02/2012 22:59

Mine was measured when he started walking at 11 months as a 5.5. He is 2.7 now and only a 7.

Bramshott · 17/02/2012 23:06

Dd2 is 5 in a few weeks and wears size 7. She has very small feet though.

JoInScotland · 17/02/2012 23:13

My son wore size 5 Clarks/4.5 Start-rite when he was finally walking at age 13 months. He changed size every 6 weeks! I stopped buying them new and started asking friends for hand-me-downs or shopping on Ebay/charity shops. He's in size 7 now, but all brands are different. He wears size 7 Gap snowboots, but size 6.5 Clarks velcro-close leather shoes. And Start-rite measure smaller as well.

DioneTheDiabolist · 17/02/2012 23:23

They grow really fast. They year my DS went from 2 to 3 I spent nearly £200 buying him shoes as his feet grew from 7 to 10.5 . He stabilized last year (grew at a more affordable rate) and now at 4.11 is a size 12G.

lilmamma · 18/02/2012 10:11

13 months and a clarks size 5 G :)

GwennieF · 18/02/2012 10:14

DS is 3.3 and wears 9F
DD is 19 months and wears 5G

duchesse · 18/02/2012 10:18

2.6 yo and in a size 6.

PuffofSmoke · 18/02/2012 18:42

Shock Didn't realise just how little DDs feet are!

She got her first pair of shoes at 16 months and was a size 3g, now at 25 months she is a 4g.

hazeyjane · 18/02/2012 18:44

19 months - 3 extra wide (H +)

Pascha · 18/02/2012 18:44

DS is 17 months and a 5g

Dotty0 · 18/02/2012 18:52

DS1 is 5.5 & size 12.5
DS2 is 3 & size 8.5
Both were size 5 at 12months

Twinklebum · 18/02/2012 18:52

Dd at 8.5 months 3f

sleeplessinderbyshire · 18/02/2012 18:53

my tiny DD got her first shoes (size 2E) at 15 months. At 2.6 she's in a 4F and has been for 8 months with no sign of her feet growing for ages

ProlificYoungGentlemenBreeder · 18/02/2012 18:55

3 at 9/10 months
4 at um sometime after that
5 at 18 months

Aboxofmaltesers · 18/02/2012 18:58

I didn't get the option of cute baby shoes with my DS, his first shoes at 11 months were a 5.5G and now at 13 months a 6.5G.
He's all in proportion at 27lb and 2ft9! 98th centile since 6 weeks..... I'm 5'6 and DH 5'9 so where he gets it from is a mystery!

Destrier · 18/02/2012 19:25

To balance things. Ds is 4.5 and is size 7.

first1 · 25/02/2012 17:14

Just had my dd remeasured she's 21 months and remains an unchanged 5f for the past three months
