Well that was a waste of time & I've agreed to something I don't agree with

My meeting with the school nurse & the head teacher did not go well

The bullying didn't happen

She is unhappy everywhere but at school

I am a bad parent (although I m prepared to go on a course if they suggest it)

I've agreed that she is unhappy anywhere but at school - even tho' I don't agree with it as if I didn't they would not refer me to the Family Support Team

Oh katy. I don't know what to say.

You are not a bad parent otherwise you would not be going to all this trouble for your DD.

What is your next step? Have you spoken to the governors? How about another meeting with the head etc but take somebody in with you who knows your DD as well as you do?

Sorry I can't offer any more help but I really feel for you.

KM, have you looked at other local schools for her? I only ask as I moved my 8 yr old dd at Christmas. I only realised quite how unhappy she had been at the old school now I see her at the new one. DD1 still goes to the old school, and loves it there, but it wasn't the right one for dd2. She's far less compliant, more of an individual and some schools can't cope with that. She was also subject to a lot of verbal bullying, which in my mind wasn't dealt with effectively. It was a very difficult decision to make, and did make me unpopular with some of the people there (and I do a LOT of things at/for the school). I'm sure some of the teachers still see it as a major overreaction on my part, because they thought she was 'coping' adequately (work was always average etc) but I wanted to see my child thrive at school, not just survive. Hope you get some progress soon.
