I'll try and keep this short! Dd is 6mo and up until 3wms ago was very grumpy and clingy to me whenever I took her 2 mil, I think it was because she was a little overbearing with dd and just simply doesnt know her cues or needs and her being so little she used to tire of her v.quickly! I have a love routine but We are going abroad next month with mil and sil (dp isn't coming) and while I'm looking forward to it I am also concerned with how mil and sil will be?? Obviously I can't/don't want to keep dd up late every nigh but I know they will prob expect it and I'm worried about them over stimulating dd as they ALWAYS do. Even if I tell them she's getting tired now so don't play/talk cos she needs to wind down, they still do. dd is clingy to me around them too and they often tell me she is which I take as an insult cos she not like it around other people??

So I guess what I want to know is how do deal with them??

You just need to stand your ground I'm afraid, nothing else will work. If they keep on overstimulating her, remove her from them. Take her to a quiet place. You are her Mum, you decide what she does and when, nobody else. Enjoy your holiday, and try and relax :) I am a sucker for routine too, always have been, but time has taught me that when it isn't stuck to 100% - it doesn't break them! It's more traumatic for us than it is for them Wink

Your right I don't think dd will be fazed too much by the break in routine. It's more the FIL I'm worried about but I guess they are just gonna have to be told! hope they don't mind the early starts and night wakings too much :)
