teething - not keen on giving calpol

But should I? DS has two teeth through at eight months. He wakes a lot in the night but can normally be settled with teething gel, powder or breast. Everyone suggests calpol. Is it cruel for me to not give him any?

Yes, what happygilmore said re bf.

Dd is 11m, she's had calpol about 3 times for fever. I gave her nurofen once for teething in the day - she really appreciated it!! That said, she could have had a sore throat / tummy / leg - I don't KNOW it was teething.

I haven't given it again but would if she was crying a lot which would be uncharecteristic. Is he 8m - I think there's a ntaural sleep regression around then too so could be that?

Dd wakes fairly frequently (ie 2 times a night 4 nights out of 7) but nothing like you describe. Why not give calpol one night before bed and see what happens? If he doesn't wake then at least you know he's been in pain?
