Does anyone else have boisterous girls?

I'm reading the struggling with three boys thread
and wondering if 3 boys could be any worse than my 3 girls ( and 3 year old boy) combo?
They are terrible if left to watch TV all day, we can't do pyjama days because it always ends up a disaster.
We need to get out of the house and run around every day for at least an hour ( more is better).
Luckily we have a pool, so they spend an hour or so in there a day.
They are always fighting, usually physically.
If I leave the room I often come back to a pile of girls wrestling with a small boy perched on top like a tick on a sheeps bum.
When we are out and about, someone always falls over, someone always has a meltdown and someone usually injures themselves in an obscure way.
They always need a bath at the end of the day because they are normally filthy.
Am I alone in having girls who aren't in the least girly?

I have one of each and they are both rough-and-tumble, usually filthy/bruised by the end of each day, are constantly battering each other / regaling each other with poo jokes and need to be walked daily like puppies. It isn't just boys!

Everything you're describing here sounds like my kids - healthy little critters who love to move. More work than complacent little princesses, but also much more desirable, at least for me.

my 3 are definitely feral...the eldest at 6 just loves to wind up her twin sisters (2.5) and watch them go..
I am starting to hate summer because all the windows are open and the neighbourhood (note not just neighbours, but the whole blasted village) can hear us and must be so pissed off by now!

I'd like to say I was always calm and controlled, but I am ashamed to say that I normally shout, just to be heard (honest, not because I've lost complete control over them!)

Ah well, there's always wine after bedtime...

None of you will believe how enlightening this thread is to me (I have 4 boys) - some of your DDs sound just like my DSs, right down to farting/toilet joke obsession and wrestling aka as BoyPile in this house !

I had tea today with another mum. We had five daughters between us, aged from 0 up to 5.

They ran RIOT. Mainly hanging out of the trees, climbing on top of the mini coupe (is that what it's called? the little plastic car) and shrieking as they fell off one by one. The best moment came during tea, when one of them (not mine ) stripped off all her clothes and her nappy. Fair enough. Then she went over to 'make the baby laugh' - which involved squatting in front of her and doing a huge poo. On the grass.

They did all say please and thank you though

Love this thread...nice to see so many mothers celebrating their daughters' physicality and rambunctiousness, rather than lamenting it .

My DD did something similar at my cousin's wedding (no poo involved this time though!) She pulled her nappy off and ran around holding her dress up, flashing her bum at everyone! I had to chase her to put it back on. No idea where she got that from!

We have three wild daughters too, also obsessed with poo jokes and discussing their bums and bits. They're very physical, loud and...hmmm...spirited is probably the word.

All that gubbins about girls being easier is just that - a load of stereotyped bollocks. Always raises a smile from DH and I and anyone else who knows our daughters anyway.

Aye, this thread is lovely. My DD is so full of energy that actually it is a physical impossibility for her to sit and wait quietly for anything. I know the other gym mums say the same but sometimes you feel like such a bad mum when all the other children are waiting nicely to go into soft play, and yours is the only one acting like they're already in there. Or yours is the loudest by far. I regularly tell mine to turn down the volume, but they only have two settings: loud and asleep. So nice to hear that others are like this too. Spirited is the euphemism I use to describe my DD too!

I have a boistrus dd aswell, she is always filthy and bruised and has a big scab or graze up her arms or down her legs. she has 2 volums loud or louder, she swings climbs jumps dives every where and loves fighting and wrestling. I love her energy, she is like a wirl wind and you can sometimes see people litterly wincing when she comes pounding over to merily great them.

God, no, I celebrate it (even though it is a little wearing). I think it's good for a girl to be spirited. I don't tolerate bad manners and they are a bit older so understand social norms. I have had a lot of snotty comments about "tomboys" and "feistiness" (said with a lip curl).

Here! My 3 girls never stop moving, I dread to think what state we'd be in if we tried to stay in all day and they eat like a plague of locusts.

We have a lot of grey baths too.

i have one daughter,4, who loves to dress as a princess but climb everything like a monkey run jump swim
another, 3, v tomboyish in dress sense, loves taking everything apart digging under climbing frames etc but also spends hours gazing at herself adoringly in any shiny surface
the baby seems the worst of the lot

they are disgustingly dirty

also they take total pleasure in snot and being naked
this was not what i expected from watching disney documentaries

My 3yo DD is a little whirlwind.

We were leaving nursery the other day and walking with her 'boy' friends mum. She looked at DD charging along and said she always though little girls were calm and mellow, 'DD' is nothing like that .

I think DD gets it from her big brother and from me, I don't like sitting down and while I like to do my nails and love fashion I am quite happy getting my hands dirty in the garden or climbing trees.

I might enrol her in gymnastics (she'd cause chaos in a ballet class).

Calm and mellow hahaha. Mine I'm sure is part monkey bizarrely at birth from the back she looked like one . She takes on 6 year old skin heads and literally only stops running when she is asleep.

Poncey, we intervene when someone starts bleeding too.

Next time we read on MN about precious mothers of poncey girls, we should just link them to this thread.

Me! I have 2 DDs and they're up stuff, down stuff, under stuff and shouting ALL DAY LONG.

I am always when people on here go on about "good girls" versus "crazy boys"

Mine are also crude and mucky. They fight and climb and also need a lot of excersise.

I have 2 DS and 1 DD and she is just as boisterous as them. My family keep saying 'she's such a girl' but in fact they just comment on what the consider girly behaviour which they ignored in my boys. Really annoys me. but yes. Boisterous girl (DD of former boisterous tomboy here too)
