Rebbecca My oldest, now 3. Her first Word was Biccy. Being an avid baker, i made a lot of Biccy's so it was no suprise when she made grabby notions with her hands and demanded a Biccy. Slightly disapointed as i had hoped her first word would be mum. I came to be thankful that with my cooking obsession she ate at all!
What was your childs first word?

other than mamamamama and vavavavava which she said to a range of people, not just DH and I, DD said (or says) banana. So I take banana as her first proper word.

Well, as most kids do, DS babbled so was making dadadada and mamamama sounds by 8 months, but I don't consider those his first words as he wasn't referring to us and they weren't in context. His first word in context was TedTed, which is the name of the cat. Next was Daddy, he still hasn't said Mummy and he's 16 months old.
