as in more than a few words?

ds can say

mem- mum
dada- daddy
dada- granda
buppa- puppy
buppa- cat (i think he thinks dogs and cats are the same)
buh buh- burn burn
buuuh buuuh - broom broom
shoose- shoes

ds1 at this age could talk in sentences. ds2 also didn't walk til 17 months whereas ds1 walked at 13. could there be a connection to the time taken to talk?

DS2 is nearly 22mo and his grand list of words is: Yes, no, up, ta, brrrm, miaow. Somehow with these and a lot of pointing and 'Uh! Uh! UH!!!!!!' he makes himself understood Grin

He was a pretty late walker too (16mo) so maybe just can't be arsed?

my 20 month old can say

eeeyis (there he is)
babbi (rabbit)
car
mama
dadda
gapa (grandpa)
ooooosh (whoosh)

um, i think that's it!

silverfrog My DS is 20 months too. He has a few words and a lot of specific sounds for things, but everything sounds very 'thick' IYSWIM. Like he's drunk and speaking with his mouth full. Very little annunciation.

Does that sound like tongue tie? I'll look for a dent in the morning. He BF just fine, can drink from a straw etc. Understanding good, pointing, sharing and all that.

DD was much quicker (in most things), I try not to compare too much. But, this thread has made me wonder if I should worry more.

He does do two word sentences, I might have caught a 3 worder today. But, no one else can understand him and I can't half the time either. 'tis usually a process of elimination, everything sounds so alike.

Ds1 is 22months. He walked at 13months. But didn't start talking for ages.

He say's mama and dada but only under duress. Rarran (Arran, his brother) and that's it.....

Until today where he came out with

Wiwi (willy, don't ask)
Me/my
No
And what sounded like flowers (fwowers) and car (crrrrrrr)

Is it just coincidence that he started nursery today and then when at home this afternoon came out with all of the above. (apart from wiwi, that came from him trying to pull his younger brothers willy all the time)

I was actually really starting to worry tbh.
