Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

Boys
Finlay

Girls
Annabelle

Too many Finlays about I think, nice name but getting a tad over used. You dont want it becoming like the Sharon and the Traceys of the 80's. Annabelle is good tho.

Personally I'm not keen on Finlay, but I like Annabelle.

Like Annabelle (prefer Annabel).

There are 8 billion Finns. Has become very dull.

Annabel (that spelling) is pretty but also quite popular. Like Anna as a nn.

heymango · 08/07/2010 21:14

I love both!

Hi, i know how difficult it is trying to find a name, we have been back and two on all but now settled with either Daniel Or Georgia...

I quite like the name Annabelle, Finlay though i never really thought as a boys name... though i have recently heard a lady in our building at work has named her baby boy Finlay...

Good luck xx

Finlay - I do like it but it's quite soft sounding for a boy's name. I like stronger names. I like a boy's name to have one big strong consonant! The Americans use Finlay for girls and I can kind of understand that. What about Lorcan or Diarmuid? Two celtic names which sounds more like boys' names! (sorry jmo)

I like Annabel but prefer it if you spell it the English way.

Finlay way over done. Will be a million of them running around in a few years. Annabelle is nice though.

Lovely names emmaj77 - both a bit different but not too wacky! Best of luck
