hi i called my ds jem after a character in jamaica inn-just wondered if anyone else knew someone called jem? also i am pregnant and want another name starting with j -slightly unusual any ideas?

I do like Jessamy, similar old english style to Jem. It's a boy's name by the way - there's a MNer who has a female Jessamy

I have heard of Jessamy as a girls' name. It means "Jasmine", doesn't it?

I think a lot of baby name sites have it on the girls' team, as a variant of Jasmine, or Jessamine.

My friend has just had a baby boy named Jem.
