DH has insisted if this is a DS he will be called...

so...a little early in the game but...

im 8 weeks with number 2 (we have a DD who is 4) and we have been talking names and he has said that if we have a DS (if all goes well) he would want him to be called Ronnie after his GF who died nearly 18 months ago (spookily the DD for this baby is the same day he died)

now it isnt the name or the meaning as i do like it and the idea is lovely etc etc...the thing i need is some ideas as to what, other than ronald, it could be shortened from.

the only name im coming up with at the mo is Aaron- which i like but DH isnt too keen on

so wise ladies...any ideas??

why don't you just use Ronnie?
if that's what he'll be called then why give him a different name?

thisisyesterday i dont know really...i just want him to have a full name aswell...i always wanted names for my DCs that couldnt be shortened but Ronnie seems too nickname-y so i wanted there to be options incase he doesnt like it IYSWIM it might be a girl yet

I've got a mate called Aaron who we all call Ron/Ronnie. It's a great name! What about Cameron? I also know a Myron and a Rainon (not to my taste but u might like them!!) good luck!!

i LOVE cameron but i have a cousin who has a little fella called cameron so thats out

theres a trend on that side of the family where they all use eachothers names (i have 3 cousins called alex for example)

im trying to use names that they havent already used 3/4/5 time before

Google reveals that it is indeed used as a name. Interesting. Is a very pretty word, just makes me think of neurological issues.

A good friends has an Alexa and I grew up with an Alexis. Both beautiful too.

If you do not adore Ronnie then you should use it as his mn. It is only fair to choose a first name you both love.

If it's a girl it could be Veronica also shortened to Ronnie. Seem to think there was a character in Grange Hill called this.

I used to know an Alexia. Everyone called her Alex.

I love Ronnie. Wanted it for DS2 till I realised it rhymed with DS1's name.

I would just go for either Ronald or Ronnie.
