What do you think of Dali as a boy's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

If you want to name your child after a shit surrealist painter who had strong links with a fascist dictator and used to leave out catfood with iron filings in it for the local stray cats so they would eat it and screech in pain all night and give him nightmares which would inspire his shit paintings, then yes, I think it's lovely.

Even though Dali was a git he was a excellent Painter & i like the name. Its not as if you are going to use Salvadore with it?

Gosh, I honestly wasn't aware of the cat stuff! I do like Dali's work though, so we may have to agree to disagree about that. It is a bonafide first name in many arabic countries, although admittedly my use of it would not stem from that, nor would it really be homage to the funny mustachioed one.
