These are names I like, but nothing really seems to grab me. Eeek!

Alexander
Harry
Jacob
Max
Samuel (Sam)
Theo
Thomas (Tom)
William
Zachary (Zach)

Any other suggestions? Middle name will be Christopher after my father.

Many thanks

Theo, Alexander and Zachary are among my favourites! But they don't really go that well with Christopher in my opinion. Jacob Christopher, William Christopher and Max Christopher sound ver nice though.

Good Luck, hope everything goes well

Hedwig3 · 18/06/2010 14:19

If none of those are grabbing you, how about:

James
Adam
Peter
Jonathan

nikkisbump · 18/06/2010 14:19

Thanks Also meant to have Henry on that list too!

Is Alexander Christopher a bit too 'er'?

I think it's gotten to the stage where nothing is grabbing me because I'm overthinking it! OH is driving me NUTS and being way to calm about it all (IMO - although I'm a hormonal control freak thanks to late pregnancy )

Love Henry.

Have you tried daydreaming and pretending to introduce him - 'this is my son ......'?

It might at least get a few crossed off the list.

Try not to worry, you will get there in the end.

EleanorD · 18/06/2010 17:36

I love your list (in fact I think I've got all those names on my list too!). Faves are:

Theo (I love this name but my niece is a Thea!)
Max (also love this but it doesn't go with my surname)
Zachary (Zach)
Henry (as you probably know this is less common than one might expect)
Alexander (for some bizarre reason I love the shortening of Xander!)

I really like these 5 but prefer the others...
Thomas (Tom)
Jacob
Samuel (Sam)
Harry
William

Also on my list are Sebastian and Lucas.

Just13moreyearstogo · 18/06/2010 17:38

Adam Christopher and James Christopher sound good to me.

Magalyxyz · 18/06/2010 18:24

Alexander - ok. Like Sacha or Sandy more.
Harry - NO
Jacob - like it
Max - like it but pop
Samuel (Sam) - like it but v pop. wdyt of Saul?
Theo - no, too trendy, prefer the more classic Leo
Thomas (Tom) - Like it but it's a bit blah
William - see Thomas
Zachary - Yes I like this one.

NiceCuppaT · 18/06/2010 18:34

I know lots of Babies/toddlers named:
Alexander
Harry
Jacob
Max
Theo
William
Henry

And lots of 8,9,10 year olds called:
Samuel (Sam)
Thomas (Tom)

Only know one Zachary, but don't like that name.

I do like Theo, William and Henry though...just too popular for my liking!

emmyloo2 · 18/06/2010 18:52

I actually like all those names but my favourite would be: Harry and Max I think. Also love Thomas but it's quite popular. I just think Tom or Tommy is a great nickname. Henry also good suggestion.

sleepyhead3 · 18/06/2010 18:55

I like Samuel, Theo, Thomas and William from your list.

diplodoris · 18/06/2010 19:54

I like all the names on your list! My favourites are Alexander, William, Samuel, Henry and Zachary. Also like Theo if short for Theodore. Out of those I'd probably rule out Alexander and Zachary as being a bit awkward to say with Christopher, leaving William, Samuel, Henry and Theodore as favourites.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/06/2010 20:26

yellowflowers · 21/06/2010 00:22

Hilarious - I genuinely thought you meant La wrence as a name. Was just about to post asking if you were serious when realised it's an erroneous space in Lawrence. Hahaha. Can you tell I am tired and need to go to sleep?

jellybeans · 21/06/2010 13:47

It's difficult isn't it when you've already chosen a middle name. We had this with ds when we needed a name to go with Edward as a middle name.

Personally I think that William Christopher flows best then Jacob Christopher.

Ds's name is on your list .

Jacob Christopher but why don't you go for Christopher William it sounds good to me and there aren't many Christophers around

skidoodly · 21/06/2010 20:11

How about

Seth
Elias
Ronan
Leo
James
Mark

vanloadtovenice · 21/06/2010 20:31

Christopher, known as Kit, is lovely - and a great way of giving him his own 'name' as well as honouring your father. Christopher Henry sounds good.

gladders · 22/06/2010 10:24

it's a great shortlist - wait until you meet him and see what suits him?

we tried about 4 names out on our ds before we got to the right one - and then we were able to introduce him to his grandparents the next day.

with dd, it took about 5 days!

no rush!
