I am seriously considering changing my baby girls name, she just doesnt seem to suit her name, i kept thinking that it would happen but it hasnt. My DH named her in the delivery room, and although I do like the name it just doesnt sit right on her iykwim?? (He doesnt think it suits her either) Her name is Daisy Madeleine May L........ I do not want to go down the road of giving her a completely different name so I was thinking of changing Daisy and Madeleine around so her new name would be Madeleine Daisy May L........, (this was the first name i came up with when i found out we were expecting her, but DH didnt like it at the time ) and we would probably call her Maddie/Maddy. What are your opinions? Is it wrong? Two of my older children arent keen on changing her name.

Buoyed by supportive friends and feedback from MNers we did exactly this with ds2 (swapped first and middle names) - at three months - because the name just didn't feel right. Elder siblings VERY anti but it only took about a week of dh and I exclusively using new name for them to get used to it. Another week for them to use new name instinctively themselves. Your older dcs could still call her Daisy, if they love it? Quite nice for her to have a special name that only siblings use...
Good luck!

I agree with maniacbug . IMO, Daisy is more of a nn anyway

Madeline could be shortened by friends later, Maddy, Mads etc....
May is an old name, not often used now, bit different and its v.prety, you might start a revival.
My DS is 5yrs in R class and there are lots of Maddys but certainly no May.
In fact you could give her any name and after a while it would stick.
I was a florence! (magic roundabout) not any of my real names, we all have nicknames that have stuck. Lets face it any of her names is better than florence!
