What are peoples thoughts on having Logen as a middle name for a girl?

It can be spelled both ways, but Logan is more of a common spelling for boys.

Everyone will think it's pronounced like logic (lodgen?).

Missus84 · 12/06/2010 15:57

Logan is ok, Logen is ugly. It's a boys name but sounds quite unisex, along the same lines as Rowan.

muggglewump · 12/06/2010 16:01

It's a bad spelling of a boys name, or a surname.

Amarilis · 12/06/2010 16:03

Sounds soooooo chavvy to me.. Sorry!

Only if it's a surname that's in your family already. And I have a (boy) Logan but won't be piercing his ears or putting him in hotpants any time soon . Unless he wants to of course (I know you mean a girl tsc but the thought made me laugh)

Magalyxyz · 12/06/2010 16:35

If you spell it Logen then the pronounciation would be different. It would be low Jen. Which is actually nicer imo.

But Logan is a bit new as it is without changing the spelling.

What about Eloise Imogen with LoGen as a nn? I bet you hate that though! OUr tastes are probably different.

lidofabiro · 12/06/2010 16:52

I think of it as a boys' name and prefer the spelling Logan.

Other ideas starting with Lo or ending with gan.....

Megan
Lois
Louise
Lorna
Lorianna
Lorraine

I knew a Loghann in the US (parents trying very hard to be Irish). They pronounced it Logan. I think of Logan Airport in Boston when I hear this name -- funny enough, Loghann's dad was a pilot.

OkieCokie · 12/06/2010 20:59

I don't like it, it's a but chavvy

OkieCokie · 12/06/2010 20:59

Oh, but if it is a middle name then it doesn't really matter too much, I guess it depends on the first name?

GladioliBuckets · 12/06/2010 21:25

Might well be an official spelling but looks like a mistake and consequently makes you look a bit dumb sorry.

boodleboot · 12/06/2010 21:34

eh?? no way. so awful for a girl and not my cup of tea for boy either. sorry

shockers · 12/06/2010 21:42

I know of a Logan... a boy, but he has a Scandinavian surname and it kind of goes.

dizzydixies · 12/06/2010 23:59

not a fan sorry and I don't mind boys names on girls - i just don't like Logan and every second boy here seems to be called it

Ronaldinhio · 13/06/2010 00:12

made up name?

venusonarockbun · 13/06/2010 00:29
