What do you think of Prunella as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Ewww, it sounds like the name of an ugly stepsister in a fairytale.

JoKettle · 02/06/2010 06:55

I love it as a name but there are too too many associations as mentioned above eg prune juice (effective but gross) and Sybil Fawlty. Having said that, if you were to use it it would quickly become your DC's name above all that and those other associations would become less important IYSWIM. Prue is sweet as nn as well.

Hedwig3 · 02/06/2010 10:16

Agree with JoKettle.

gagamama · 02/06/2010 10:20

I like Prue as a nickname, but prefer Prudence. Prunella just sounds like a bit of a comedy name.

Prudence is nice

Pasiphae · 02/06/2010 14:34

I like Prunella a lot.
Don't care about the Prune comments, it still is beautiful.

LaRagazzaInglese · 02/06/2010 21:45

prefer Sybil
