Baby 3 due next week. Have an Eleanor and a William (Billy) already. Don't know what we are having and are struggling to pick a girl's name. Which name do you love/hate??

Abigail
Annabelle
Charlotte
Hannah
Rebecca
Kate
Eliabeth

Thanks!

They are all good, classic names with good nickname potential. Can't go wrong with any.

Which one works best with your surname?

Psammead · 01/06/2010 11:01

Personally not keen on Hannah or Rebecca.

LOVE Abigail!

Lumpity · 01/06/2010 11:02

Our Surname is pretty normal name so most things go with it. Ends with "ON" though so I find names ending in N sound funny (like Imogen)

All nice names. My favourites from your list are Abigail, Annabelle, Rebecca.

Amapoleon · 01/06/2010 11:24

I like Hannah the best.

Doozie · 01/06/2010 11:31

Abigail - Really dislike this name and the nn Abby - sorry!
Annabelle - ok
Charlotte - ok
Hannah - no
Rebecca - ok
Kate - Lovely - my favourite and goes well with your other DC names.
Elizabeth - Lovely, esp. like nn Libby, Eliza, Beth or Bess - Never Liz.

newpup · 01/06/2010 11:36

They are all pretty names, very classic and will not date.

I prefer, Abigail, Annabelle, Kate and Elizabeth.

Hedwig3 · 01/06/2010 11:51

Annabel or Kate would go well.

Annabelle looks frilly next to Eleanor.

SillyTillyBilly · 01/06/2010 11:59

What a lovely list of names, My favourites are Charlotte, Elizabeth, Hannah and Rebecca.

SqueezyB · 01/06/2010 12:06

From your list I like Annabelle (though I prefer Annabel) and Rebecca the best.

swanandduck · 01/06/2010 13:29

Abigail - Mmmm.
Annabelle - Prefer Annabel
Charlotte - Nice
Hannah - Nice
Rebecca - Used to love it but bored now
Kate - See Rebecca
Eliabeth - Okay. Love Lizzie, Libby and Beth

swanandduck · 01/06/2010 13:30

Soeey, meant to put Meh beside Abigail.

swanandduck · 01/06/2010 13:31

And meant to put sorry not soeey. I think I need a drink!

mathanxiety · 01/06/2010 15:42

I like Hannah the best. 'Eleanor, William and Hannah' has a nice, soft ring to it.

sedgiebaby · 01/06/2010 15:49

All really traditional but pleasant, I like Charlotte and Elizabeth some really really nice nn's for the latter

120 · 01/06/2010 15:55

Charlotte

twosofar · 01/06/2010 16:56

Abigail - really dislike
Annabelle - Definitely needs to be spelt Annabel, looks much nicer
Charlotte - lovely - love Lottie
Hannah - OK
Rebecca - OK but hate Becky
Kate - Nice and stylish for a child, but would become Katie which i really don't like
Elizabeth - like lots of the nn's for this - Bess, Betty,

Lumpity · 01/06/2010 17:56

Agree with spelling of Annabel being much nicer.

Think that I like the idea of nn's -like William always being Billy at the moment, so Hannah is prob not bet as can't shorten really. Same with Kate.

DH loves nn Annie which works with Annabel. I love all the Elizabeth nn's much more than I like the full name!

All nice.
My DDs are Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Catherine (Kitty). However, DH has recently started to call DD2 Kate and I really quite like it. I'm not keen on Katie at all but Ive never known a Catherine who was already shortened to Kate get Katie.

I like Annie too BTW.

posieparker · 01/06/2010 18:02

Don't especially like any other than Charlotte.

lola0109 · 03/06/2010 23:37

I love Charlotte but not keen on lottie as nn would prefer charlie. I like Hannah and Kate too.

I'm so pleased that there have been some nice comments on Elizabeth as DD2 arrived 8 weeks ago and we went with Elizabeth Ellen (Lizzie) but when we tell people the name they say "oh you don't hear that much now".

I love it though and loads of lovely nicknames.

halfawake · 04/06/2010 00:34

All nice names!

Annabel with Annie as nickname would be lovely. Also really like Charlotte and Rebecca. I don't think you could go wrong with any!

Lumpity · 05/06/2010 20:54

Think we have decided to go with Annabel as formal name but will use nn Annie. (May be interesting if baby end up with red curls like DD1 had as a toddler!!)
