Lionel for a boy?

What do you think of Lionel for a boy's name? I'm trying to draw up a shortlist at the moment.

Liiiiiiiiiooonnnnn-oooo, Schnaarff Schnarff. (Anyone else ever watch the Thundercats?)
Also makes me think of Lionel from Brushstrokes, was a bit of a loser character iirc.

What about Leopold? it has a similar sound but is not quite as bloody goofy sounding as lionel... which makes me think of lionel blair and geoffrey palmer

I really like it - I had it on my shortlist at one point. I do prefer Leo though. Or Leonardo.

I think Lionel is a great name, go for it.

I have a work colleague who's middle name is Lionel and people really take the mick out of him so i would say no i'm afraid x

I actually quite like Leonard, know a little one too.

I think it's quite cool.

Lionel is my gramps' middle name.
