Faves are: Nell; Gilda; Natalia; I've not heard of Shura before but that is nice.
Of the boys I quite like Lucas.

Anna - lovely
Esme - OK
Neve (Nev) - not keen, Nev sounds as if it's short for Neville
Milla - not keen
Astrid - dislike, sounds harsh and ends in "rid"
Nell - nice if it's a nickname for something
Mia - like
Gilda - sounds harsh, too much like Hilda
Natalia - lovely
Shura - haven't heard of this before but it's nice

Asher - too unisex
Lucas - OK but not keen on surnames as first names, so prefer Luke
Alexander - very nice

halfawake · 30/05/2010 21:23

I like all except Gilda and Shura.

Nicest are Anna and Lucas.

rasputin That's where I got the name from I know it has sad connotations but I do love it. I also love Sylvia, but again, sad.

In order of preference:
Esme - I really like!
Astrid
Anna
Neve surely should be pronounced 'Neeve' otherwise it is short for Neville
Mia
Natalia

But a HUGE no to:
Milla - isn't that part of the stomach or intestines?
Nell
Gilda
Shura

For the boys, I like Lucas and Alexander but not Asher.

leonam · 30/05/2010 21:39

BuzzingNoise is it maybe 'Villi' you're thinking of?

I might consider 'intestine' for a girl actually,it has a lovely ring to it

I do like Assia! It contains the word 'ass' though, so that put me off a wee bit. There are so many possible ways to make fun of that name

Nell is just lovely. I love it. Also like Natalia.
But me and DP are both Ns so we avoided them, thought it might sound a bit cringey.

capstone · 30/05/2010 21:51

How about Cassia?

BuzzingNoise · 31/05/2010 16:49

leonam you could be right Still sounds odd to me though!
I like Colon personally...
