Jacob?

Just mulling this one over...

I like Jacob but not so sure about Jake which I guess is the inevitable nn - would appreciate any opinions on the name & nn.

Also, I know it is v popular in the States but seems to be less so over here? Do you know many Jacobs?

Not a single Jacob in the primary school my kids goes to (101 students)

I do not think Jake will be invetable my oldest is Phoebe and she is not called Pheebs to my face at least lol

thanks everyone! V much appreciate the replies. I like it more & more - I was a bit put off about the supplanter thing too, but less significant for a first born I guess. I like Jay as a nn too because it's a lovely bird!

My 13month old is Jacob.

The "Lost" and "Twilight" thing didn't even enter our minds when we named him. It was Just the only name we could agree on.

He does get called Jakey but we're as far away from Scotland as possible so it doesn't matter.

He never gets called Jake though!

My DS in called Jacob and we chose it because we liked it and you could get lots of different nicknames from it. Jay, Jake, even Coby. I think it is quite popular but I only know one other currently.
