Lady Gaga.

OK, I'm all for unusual names but I think this is very unfair on the poor baby.

Bless I bet they though they were being original.

lifeas3plus1 · 26/05/2010 20:54

What you talking about? It's an absolutely lovely name............

MrsRhettButler · 26/05/2010 20:56

i'm absolutely gaga about it!!

hopperdee · 27/05/2010 11:05

My brother works with overseas students and one is called Lady Diana

BustleInYourHedgerow · 27/05/2010 11:16

Christ. I thought the birth registrars were pretty strict in Ireland? My mother wanter to register me as an abbreviated version of my name, and she wasn't allowed. I suppose things have changed in 25 years.

swanandduck · 27/05/2010 14:45

They will have trouble if they try to get a baby baptised with that name in Ireland.

wukter · 27/05/2010 14:47

30 years ago my big sis called me Baby Gaga.
Prescient toddler.

WhenKevinMetSadie · 27/05/2010 14:49

Do you mean a baby in Kerry Katona rather than Co. Kerry?

Cos that seems more plausible to me.

mathanxiety · 27/05/2010 16:20

This is why there are Kerry jokes. (It seems very plausible for this Dubliner...)

MagalyZz · 27/05/2010 16:27

Oh that is terrible.... did the registrar allow that? I don't know if there are any rules as such but I can imagine the average registrar is quite sensible and would steer a parent away from such a ridiculous unusual choice.

I agree mathanxiety, the rest of the country is going to go to town on kerryman jokes again! thought they'd died down.

I'm trying to think of something that sane to shorten it to, that would disguise it's embarrassing origins. Didi!?

MagalyZz · 27/05/2010 18:20

chip monkey is there a link or did you hear iton the radio!?

chipmonkey · 27/05/2010 23:54

Heard it on the Colm and Lucy show yesterday. missing Gerry emoticon

I think there would be trouble baptising a baby with that name but they may very well be heathens! I do know that the year ds1 was born there were 2 Pocohontas's born in Dublin so the registrars can't be all that fussy!

Oh dear. The term cruel and unusual punishment springs to mind

fatheadsgirl · 28/05/2010 10:32

Just remembered..... the actress Shannyn Sossamon (A knights Tale, 40 Days and 40 Nights) named her son....... AUDIO SCIENCE!

Think I'd rather be Lady GaGa

shortontime · 29/05/2010 14:28

Social services have been informed I take it?
